Chapter 11
Onward to Snowpoint City; Guy’s new form

Guy hadn’t anticipated this; after he had won his Relic Badge from Fantina of the Hearthome City Gym he went to Canalave and won his Mine Badge.  Both were easier than expected but then again Jazz did train his Pokemon.  The next gym was Snowpoint City’s and then it was onward to Port Origin and Jazz said that it would be an easy trip.  Too bad he neglected to mention that Routes 216 and 217 were snow covered.  At the very least Jazz had bought everyone some snow gear which included jackets, hats,  and insulators but it didn’t improve the situation much because Guy was still freezing his head off and as if fate was out to smite him, there was a blizzard that hit Guy and his group the moment they put on the snow gear which sent them just shivering.  Through it all however, Guy’s group progressed slowly but surely through snow that came up to their waists and they stayed as close as they could as to keep what body heat could be kept.  As they came up to the end of Route 216, the group spotted a lodge that was taking people in as a rest stop on the way to Snowpoint.  The group immediately went inside and was greeted with the warmth of well heated building and they sighed in relief in one big chorus.
“Welcome to Snowbound Lodge,” said a man walking up to them, “well don’t just stand there, come on in!  You all must be frozen stiff by now.”
“T-tha-thank you,” Guy stuttered from his shivering.
The group was led inside and placed in front of a fire in the den where other travelers had gathered and were given hot beverages that ranged from hot chocolate to coffee.
“Wow it really was cold out there,” chirped Jazz as he started to take a sip of his coffee.
The others almost glared at him but they were too wiped to do so and the fire was still defrosting them.
“Gee what gave it away,” replied Guy as he drank from his cup of coffee, “was it the white stuff outside or was it all of us shivering like our bones had the label: Shake Well?”
“Hmmm…I think it might have been the second one,” teased Jazz.
Guy sighed and went back to his coffee and stared into the fire.  He had been thrust from one conflict to another with no rest in between.  He fought against his friends; well they were his family now, when they were in the employment of Team Magma and Aqua.  Then he fought against XD-386 Missingno and barely managed to defeat and destroy him with the help of Ash and Red the Chosen One and the XDs.  And now he had to stop Team Galactic, who somehow acquired his powers, from wiping out the world.  Guy stole a look to the XDs and his allies, Riley wanted to come along for mysterious reasons but he proved to be a valuable asset, Kira the reincarnation of Red the Chosen One chose to come back to life to help one final time, and then there were the XDs.  Almost in an instant they went from enemies to close allies and now he considered them family, the entire thing amazed Guy and he welcomed it but the only questions that remained were will him and his new family survive whatever awaited them at Dawn Island.  Guy sighed but he soon felt something on his shoulder and he looked over to see Lias leaning on his shoulder asleep.  Guy smiled and gathered her into his arms as he looked around him to see everyone else asleep as well, the fire had done its duty and lulled everyone into a peaceful slumber.  Guy grabbed a blanket from his backpack and draped it over Lias and laid her down gently before getting up and sneaking out of the room but behind Q’s dark sunglasses, his eyes were wide open and as soon as Guy left the room, Q got up as well and snuck out.  Guy was on his way to the kitchen to see if another cup of coffee was available but he soon stopped at the sound of two people talking.
“What are we going to do?  We can’t just keep people here.  When will they stop?”
“I don’t know…all we can do is wait for it.”
“Wait for it?!  They’re the reason that this blizzard is happening!  They went and upset the Snover!”
“Keep your voice down dear…I know but this is Team Galactic.  We can’t stand up to them.”
Guy’s body hardened for combat and he walked into the kitchen and focused rock hard eyes on the man and woman that were speaking.
“Well hello there.  You need…” the man trailed off when he looked at Guy’s eyes.
“Where are they?” said Guy coldly, “I will stop them.”
Whether it was his posture or the way he looked, Guy neither knew it nor cared about it because the man started to tell all.
“They started digging into the mountain…just north of here.  The constant loud noises disturbed the Snover and in retaliation, they whipped up this blizzard which is several time stronger than anything on record.”
“I see,” said Guy, “thank you.  Please take care of my friends and family while I am gone.”
Guy then turned around to walk out but as he cleared the door, he suddenly felt a powerful hand on his shoulder and looked to see Q to his shock.
“You are not going out there alone,” Q said so firmly that Guy didn’t dare argue, “I’m coming with you and you can’t say anything that will change that decision.”
Guy merely nodded from both shock that Q would do this and from his firm declaration of doing so.  The two gathered their coats and skull caps and after putting them on, they left out of the door.

In the dig site, a Galactic overseer was checking the drill in preparation to penetrate further into Mt. Coronet in order to get to bypass the eight badge door which blocked their way to the Spear Pillar.  During the last check off before sending the drill to do its work, the overseer was disturbed by one of the workers.
“Sir there’s someone here from command to see you!”
The overseer ignored the worker for a second until his brain processed what he said and he came from the drill.
“Tell them I’m on my way.”
“Yes sir!”
The worker ran off and the overseer went to a table and gathered his things in a shoulder bag and he checked his list.  He was on the last of his checklist which was to make sure that the drill bits on the drill head were properly balanced.  The overseer didn’t like to be disturbed during his work but this was command so he placed the list back into his bag and headed to the front area where the tents were.  After about ten minutes of walking, the overseer came into the largest tent which served as the command tent and to his surprise, he saw the Galactic Administrator Saturn sitting at the table with another bodyguard Administrator standing beside him.
“Mr. Saturn sir,” the overseer said sitting down, “didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Is that why you had me wait for twenty minutes?” Saturn replied coldly.
“What?  Oh no sir I was running a final check off on the drill.”
“Good…how is the progress coming along?”
“We are on schedule and should be done in three weeks as planned.”
“Good.  I’ll expect a full report shipped to Master Cyrus’s and my desk in a week.”
“Yes sir!”
“Oh and while I’m at it, I should warn you about a young man named Guy Wozaki.  He is a dangerous foe and should be eliminated on site.  I’ve already sent you pictures of him to your computer.”
“Right I’ll inform my lookouts to be wary of him.”
With that Saturn got up and walked out of the tent and into the white blizzard outside of the man-made cave.  The overseer then went to his computer to pull up the pictures and give the order to his lookouts.”

In the cold night, Guy and Q traveled in the direction that the man had said.  The night climate was way colder than the day and it was harsher to travel.  As the two got to the mountain, they spotted something in their way.  Upon closer inspection the two saw many figures standing on the snow with eyes that looked like glowing orbs.  Guy and Q weren’t the type to be intimidated and pressed forward to see a large gang of Snover staring angrily at them.
“More human mean to take more of our land!” said one Snover.
“They must be stopped before they destroy the mountain!” said another Snover.
Before Guy or Q could defend their reasons, the Snover used their special ability, Snow Warning, to summon a blizzard and they disappeared into the white screen.  Snow Warning was an ability that allows Snover to control if it would snow or not and it hurts anything that isn’t an ice-type Pokemon and neither Guy nor Q where part ice so the ability was damaging.  To make matters worse, the Snover had surrounded the duo and started tossing Razor Leaf at them.  Q saw the attacks first and used the speed on Agility, Mach Punch, and Bullet Punch to make short work of them.  Guy then gathered himself and went into his Hitmonlee form.
“We have to stop this snow Guy,” said Q after he deflected another onslaught of Razor Leaf.
“I know!” replied Guy when he incinerated a group of Razor Leaf, “What a minute…that’s it!”
“What is it?”
“All we need to do is…”
Before Guy could finish his idea, the Snover had used a combined Grasswhistle attack and Guy slumped to the ground asleep.  Q was feeling the effects too but just before he went under he used Wake-up Slap on himself to null the effects and got back up.  He then turned to Guy and did the same with him.
“What was that?” asked Guy.
“Grasswhistle,” Q answered, “anyone who would hear that would be put to sleep almost instantly.”
“Ok the first thing we need to do is get out of this veil of snow and to do that we need to combine our Fire Punch into one and slam them into the ground.  The rising heat created should cancel out the blizzard.”
Q didn’t argue with the plan and in synchronization with Guy, they charged up a Fire Punch on each hand and slammed into the ground below them instantly vaporizing the snow in a three yard radius and the area above.  Guy was correct in his assumption as the Snow Warning was canceled out.  Without the cover that Snow Warning provided, the Snover were revealed and they looked absolutely shocked at what they saw.  One Snover exited the group and approached Guy.  The two locked eyes for a moment before the Snover bowed a little.
“Chosen Protector,” said the Snover, “our apologies.”
The rest of the Snover soon bowed as well which left Guy in a mild state of shock till Q shook him.
“Uhh don’t worry about it,” replied Guy, “you were upset about your home being disturbed.”
The Snover bowed again and the one who approached Guy spoke up again, “Will you help us Chosen Protector to drive off these intruders of our land?”
“Of course,” said Guy.
The Snover bowed again and another Snover walked up to Guy, “Chosen Protector, please take our power to protect this world.  We know that you can do this.”
Guy nodded and activated his powers and the Snover in front of him turned into a white silhouette along with Guy and the two combined in a flash of light.  When it faded, it revealed Guy dressed in all brown clothing with a white throw that flowed from his shoulders and covered him to his waist.  He also wore a white hat that was shaped in the top of a Snover’s head.  On his hands was a pair of green gloves that went to his forearms and his eyes still held their bluish luster underneath the hat.  The PB went to work recording the form and when it was done, Guy split with the Snover and smiled some.
“We will take you to where they are.”
Guy and Q nodded and the two were guided through the winter night by the Snover.

Galactic lookouts were perched high in the cool sky which was both a blessing and a curse.  The high altitude that they had to look from was where the most of the winter winds were so it was like an ice storm up there but at the same time the orders that were received were few and far in between so it evened out.  The recent blizzard that had raged for two days straight had finally died down and the heaters that they kept on the towers finally took effect other than preventing its own freezing.  As the lookouts peered into the night, they spotted two figures approaching the cave and they fetched the binoculars to get a better look.  What they saw put them on red alert and they instantly pulled out their PBs to transform into Ninjask forms and alerted the cave’s staff to the intruders.  They then flew down the tower with great speed and went straight to the intruders.  One of the intruders in question was none other than Guy Wozaki the Chosen Protector and a target that was marked to be eliminated on sight.

Guy and Q made their way to the cave after the Snover took them as far as they were able to go.  They slacked off on the Snow Warning so that both he and Q were able to see where they were going.  When the cave came in sight, all of a sudden they heard sirens go off and then figures that were in outfits like Saturn’s Ninjask form appeared and surrounded them.  Guy counted ten of them as he went into his Hitmonlee form; the figures were probably guards and they spotted the two as they approached.  Q readied himself along with Guy as the figures charged in.  Guy used Agility and jumped out of the circle and Q shot off an Aura Sphere to the ground and shockwave disrupted the circle of guards enough for Q to do a Mach Punch on one and jump from the rest.  The punched guard gathered himself and with the rest of his group, charged again with five taking Guy and another five taking Q.  Guy used Detect to dodge the first attacker and Reversal to bring down the second while the other four remaining surrounded him.  Q used Mind Reader on an attacker as he tried to hit him with an X-Scissor attack and but they missed and Q made him pay with a close range Mega Punch but a second caught him in a Slash that was powered up with Swords Dance.  When Q turned around to counter attack, a third hit him with Flash and the fourth hit home with an X-Scissor sending Q flying a little ways before he recovered.  Guy was fairing no better as he dodged another attack and countered with Sky Uppercut but on his way down he was pummeled with a Slash attack from one guard, an X-Scissor from another, Fury Swipes from a third, and Fury Cutter from a fourth all of which were powered up by Swords Dance but Guy was resilient and recovered and countered one with Counter which devastated the guard and he crumbled to the ground unconscious but his comrades were still going and descended on Guy with a four-way X-Scissor which sent Guy flying.  Q saw Guy’s predicament and rushed to his aid but he was cut off by a Silver Wind and thrown back by a combined X-Scissor from two guards.  Q knew the situation was worsening because of the Speed Boost the guards were getting after each attack.  It wasn’t going to be long before the guards became blurs.  Q got his focus back just as another guard came in for an attack but he used Mind Reader and Detect and easily dodged and countered with an Aura Sphere that he powered up with Calm Mind and the hit was guaranteed with Mind Reader active.  The guard had no chance and fell to the ground.  Q then jumped from the attacks of the other guards and landed beside Guy who was getting up.  Q acted quick and placed his hand on Guy’s shoulder and used Recover to restore his energy.
“You okay?” asked Q.
“Yeah,” panted Guy as he got up, “how many do we have left?”
“Eight.”
“Crap…”
Guy knew that if they didn’t do something quick, they would be taken down fast and hard.  Suddenly an idea came to him, it was a long shot but the only one available and with just the type of fire power to do it.  Guy got to his feet and activated his PB and became a white silhouette.  Q took up position to defend Guy in whatever he had planned but when he look back he smirked some to see Guy in his Snover form and stepped aside as Guy walked to the guards.  The guards were flabbergasted at what Guy was thinking but by the time they got themselves together, it was too late.  Guy let the Snow Warning ability activate and the blizzard that the guards believed to be over was back in all of its fury and it was beating them down.  If that wasn’t bad enough for them, Guy unleashed a massive Blizzard attack that engulfed the guards.  When the attack stopped and cleared, it revealed the guards being frozen solid.  Guy then shifted back to his Hitmonlee form and caught his breath.
“Good move,” Q commented while using Recover on himself.
Guy nodded but then turned to the cave when he got his second wind, “Let’s go…we have to get them out of the mountain.”
Q nodded and he and Guy headed to the cave.

Back at the cabin, Lias woke up from her sleep and looked around.  It was night time and the fire had almost died but it was evident that the warmth was still present.  As Lias looked around she noticed all of the sleeping trainers around and her brothers asleep as well but she also noticed an empty spot where Q was and Guy was around either though his Pokeball belt lay beside her.  She got up in search of the two and as she walked by the master bedroom, she overheard two voices and what they said rocked here to her core with dread.
“We shouldn’t have told him,” said a female voice, “Just the two of them, they could be killed.”
“I-I know,” said a male voice, “but somehow…I think they’ll be fine.  I called the Snowpoint police so I think they’ll last until the authorities arrive.”
“You think?!  It’s just a boy and what looks like his older brother!  They are up against what could be hundreds of Galactic men!  How could you think they’d be fine?!”
Lias put her hand to her mouth and backed up till she hit the wall and she sunk to the floor until she was sitting on it.  Her vision was being blurred and she had a deep ache in her chest.  Somehow…she knew that something was going to go wrong.

A Galactic grunt that was in a Zubat PB form fell to the ground with a grunt from Guy’s powerful Mega Punch and the two made their way into the inner part of the cave.  Behind them lay a path of unconscious grunts that had reverted back to normal.  In the inner part of the cave, Guy and Q were met with a massive force.  There were at least fifty grunts and administrators waiting for them in PB forms.  Some were in a Hariyama form which consisted of a Hariyama’s pants part and gloves while their chest was armored with a brown chest piece and a Hariyama helmet that had each individual’s eyes gleaming through.  Others were in a Sandslash form which was basically all brown clothing with brown spikes on their back and they had gauntlets that where Sandslash claws.  There was also one in the back of the force that was in a Bastiodon form which consisted of yellow armor with black boots and arm gauntlets and his back had black armor.  In his hand was a shield that was in the shape of a Bastiodon head and the man’s head was covered in a black helmet.
“Attack!” shouted the man and every grunt and administrator rush towards the two.
Guy and Q knew that they were in trouble but they also knew that if they ran away from this, they had no chance at defeating Team Galactic at Dawn Island and with that in mind, the two charged forward to meet their fate.
